Learn How to Play Texas Hold'em

Texas Hold'em poker is a card game like meny others. It is played with a normal 52 card deck of cards and the same poker hand ranks apply. It can be played with as many as 11 players, but you can play with only two people.

Basically there are five different steps in the game:

Step. 1) The game starts with the preflop.
The preflop consisits of the dealer dealing out two face down cards to each player. After the cards are dealt betting occurs.


Step. 2) Next is the flop. This consisits of the dealer laying out three cards in the middle of the table face up. These cards are used by all of the players to create their hands. Another round of betting occurs.


Step. 3) Next is the turn. The dealer turns over one more card in the middle of the table. Now their are four "community" cards and another round of betting occurs.


Step. 4) The next step is referred to as the river. The dealer deals out the fifth and final "community" card and another round of betting happens.


Step. 5) The final step is the showdown. All of the players reveal their best hands using the community cards and their own cards. The players reveal their cards in the order starting with the first person that placed a bet.

In the case that the "community" cards make the best hand the pot is split evenly among the players. Players at any time can fold and forfeit their bets.

This is the Basic of poker. To some people only seen as a game of luck and fun.... (Sad for them)
But poker is so much more, some might say poker is a life style. It's a game full of mathematics and reading people reaktions.
