Poker Mentality

POKER MENTALITY

If you only play poker for FUN, then making the jump to poker for a living may not be
for you. Because to be successful, you must be able to play at DULL tables… against
BORING players… and sit patiently for hours waiting for the right times to “make moves”.

The best players treat poker like a BUSINESS… not a hobby. It’s a way to make money.
Period. Sure… poker pros love the game and respect it, but they aren’t playing for pride.
They’re playing to pay the mortgage, car payments, and win more MONEY.
Do you ever get TIRED of waiting for good cards? Do you get annoyed by quiet…
slowmoving tables?

If you’re going to win money consistently, you’ve got to be able to play ten hours at a
time… at a BREAK EVEN rate… as you patiently wait for the BIG OPPORTUNITITES to
rake in large pots.
Of course, besides being patient and ignoring that “itch” for excitement, you must also
be able to handle LONG HOURS and LATE NIGHTS every day.

When you hear “poker professional”, what do you think of? Lots of people think of the
guys who win the World Series of Poker or World Poker Tour and take in multi-million
dollar purses.
But only a SMALL FRACTION of pros win those tournaments. Hell… not all pros even
ENTER most tournaments, depending on their preferred game.
And most importantly, the WIN RATE of even the best pros is very small. Just because
you see someone on TV a lot one season doesn’t mean he always makes the final table
for every tournament he’s in. What you DON’T see is all the frustrating losses he’s had to
GET to this point. For every final table, there’s five… ten… twenty… maybe FIFTY…
“bad” tournaments.

Most of the money that you’ll MAKE as a pro doesn’t come from that BIG tournament
win. Instead, it comes from “grinding it out” at the casinos and card rooms.
Try playing poker for a 12-hour session… FIVE DAYS IN A ROW. If you find yourself
getting too tired, you’re not ready for the pro life.

There are lots of players who have a DEEP PASSION and LOVE for poker… but they
don’t have the PERSONALITY needed to play full-time. That’s why many of the greatest
players just play SEMI-professionally… which may be a viable option for you too.

If you feel you got the Poker Mentality, Well then log on to a poker room and go for it.
Good Luck.

Ps. Hehe poker tools might help you abit along the way to ;).

What Can A Poker Tool Do?

Poker Tools

Though the poker odds calculator has been around for a while, it is not something that can be used when a person is not playing online. Since the beginnings of online poker however, it has grown in popularity and usage. Some won’t use them, as they prefer to calculation their odds on their own, but many newer players love that there is a tool that can help them with something that usually only comes with experience. A poker tool such as the Texas Hold'em Calculatem can help a player decide what their odds are on any hand in poker, but they definitely aren’t always accurate. They are great with a mathematical equation that says which hand is likely to win, but they cannot add the human element into that equation.

Most of these will help a player decide what they should do with their hand based on what other players are showing. The software will take the style of game, number of players, and the cards on the table into consideration when calculating odds. Each variation of this type of poker tool will do this, but there are some that do more, like the Texas Hold'em Calculatem. There are some that read the room and the past hands of the other players to help calculate even more information. It might take a little time to learn how to use this software to its full advantage, but it does help even the newest players understand where they stand with each hand in any game.

The choice to use such a poker tool like Texas Hold'em Calculatem is up to each player. Some don’t like them, and they would rather figure out this information out on their own. A seasoned player has had a lot of practice with doing this in their own head, but they may find the tool helps them when there are more hands on the table that seem to be good. There are times when the beset hand is obvious, but many times it is very had to tell. The newer player can use this all they want, but they should note that this will not help them with their own skills in that area, and if they were to choose to join a live poker game anywhere other than online, they won’t be able to use this type of poker tool to help them out in any way.
But still they might have learn something from these kinda poker tool.

So the conclusion must be. Poker Tools a Awsome for those who like them :D

To Buff Or Not To Bluff... That's The Magic Of Poker!

Playing Texas Hold'em Poker can be extremely exciting. Especially when you've learned to bluff at the right time and steal the pot from your competitors.

But, do you know when the time is right to bluff and when you shouldn't?
Most beginners probably don't even know what a bluff is, much less when to use one to your advantage. Is not easy to make a good bluff it's an art form.

Firstly, what exactly is a bluff? A bluff is simply raising your bet in an attempt to scare your opponents into folding.
A bluff is done when the player knows his hand is not a winner, but feels he has an advantage over the other players because he can fool them into folding. Maybe because his the chip leader.

Now that you know what bluffing is do you know how to use it correctly? Probably one of the most obvious times to bluff is when all of players check on the flop or on the turn. That moment is a great time to bluff because the players are less likely to call your bet as they already feel unsure about their hand.

The only other time you would use a bluff is if you have been playing for a while and you feel as if you have a feel for the other players.

Beginners should probably avoid bluffing until they feel confident in their ability to play the game.

Mastering the bluff can launch you from being an average player to a Pokerchamp.

Learn How to Play Texas Hold'em

Texas Hold'em poker is a card game like meny others. It is played with a normal 52 card deck of cards and the same poker hand ranks apply. It can be played with as many as 11 players, but you can play with only two people.

Basically there are five different steps in the game:

Step. 1) The game starts with the preflop.
The preflop consisits of the dealer dealing out two face down cards to each player. After the cards are dealt betting occurs.

Step. 2) Next is the flop. This consisits of the dealer laying out three cards in the middle of the table face up. These cards are used by all of the players to create their hands. Another round of betting occurs.

Step. 3) Next is the turn. The dealer turns over one more card in the middle of the table. Now their are four "community" cards and another round of betting occurs.

Step. 4) The next step is referred to as the river. The dealer deals out the fifth and final "community" card and another round of betting happens.

Step. 5) The final step is the showdown. All of the players reveal their best hands using the community cards and their own cards. The players reveal their cards in the order starting with the first person that placed a bet.

In the case that the "community" cards make the best hand the pot is split evenly among the players. Players at any time can fold and forfeit their bets.

This is the Basic of poker. To some people only seen as a game of luck and fun.... (Sad for them)
But poker is so much more, some might say poker is a life style. It's a game full of mathematics and reading people reaktions.

Poker to me is like a drug i get high when i play. This is also why i have to use my littel poker friend, with the Texas Calculatem Program my bankroll keep going up :D
